Connective particle 「が(ga)」
Connective particle ”が(ga)” is used to connect two sentences that express different or opposite descriptions on one topic, like “but” in English.
e.g.
たかやましは おおきくないですが、いいまちです。
Tkayamashi wa ōkikunaidesu ga, ī machi desu.
Takayama city isn’t big, but it’s a nice city.
e.g.
このビルは あたらしくないですが、きれいです。
Kono biru wa atarashikunai desu ga, kirei desu.
This building isn’t new, but it’s beautiful.
e.g.
この かばんは いいですが、ふるいです。
Kono kaban wa ī desu ga, furui desu.
This bag is nice, but it’s old.
