Nが ほしいです
”ほしい（hoshī）” is an い-adjective（い-けいようし）, and it describes speaker’s desire or hope, like “want” in English.
The object of this い-けいようし is indicated by the particle ”が.”
e.g. （わたしは）かばんが ほしいです。
（Watashi wa） kabanga hoshīdesu.
I want a bag.
e.g. （わたしは）きれいな はなが ほしいです。
（Watashi wa） kireina hana ga hoshīdesu.
I want beautiful flowers.
e.g. （わたしは）あたらしい じてんしゃが ほしいです。
（Watashi wa） atarashii jitensha ga hoshīdesu.
I want a new bicycle.
e.g. （わたしは）なにも ほしくないです。
（Watashi wa） nanimo hoshīkunaidesu.
I don’t want anything.
※Only ”things” can be used as the object, and ”actions” cannot be the object of this adjective.
e.g. （わたしは） サッカーが ほしいです。×
e.g. （わたしは） りょこうが ほしいです。×
