Nでした（deshita）／Nじゃ ありませんでした（ja arimasendeshita）
We learned ”Nです(desu)／Nじゃ ありません(arimasen).”
"Vでした(deshita)" is the past tense form of "Vです(desu)", and "Nじゃ ありませんでした(ja arimasendeshita)" is the past tense form of "Nじゃ ありません(ja arimasen)".
①Nでした
e.g. きのうは あめでした。
Kinō wa ame deshita.
It was rainy yesterday.
e.g. おとといは アルバイトでした。
Ototoi wa arubaito dehita.
I had a part-time job the day before yesterday.
e.g. にちようび びじゅつかんは やすみでした。
Nichiyobi bijutsukan wa yasumi deshita.
The museum was closed on Sunday.
②Nじゃありませんでした
e.g. きのうは あめじゃありませんでした。
Kinō wa ameja arimasendeshita.
It wasn’t rainy yesterday.
e.g. おとといは アルバイトじゃありませんでした。
Ototoi wa arubaitoja arimasendeshita.
I didn’t have a part-time job the day before yesterday.
e.g. にちようび びじゅつかんは やすみじゃありませんでした。
Nichiyōbi bijutsukan wa yasumija arimasendeshita.
The museum wasn’t closed on Sunday.
The conjugation pattern of nouns is the same as the conjugation pattern of な-adjectives.
