Nで ”particleで”
Particle”で” has various functions. Let's study two of them today.
①To indicate a method or means used for an action.
N = e.g. transportation, instruments, languages,…etc.
e.g. でんしゃで がっこうへ いきます。
Densya de gakko e ikimasu..
I go to school by train.
e.g. はさみで かみを きります。
Hasami de kami o kirimasu..
I cut the paper with a pair of scissors.
e.g. 「こんにちは」は えいごで “Hello” です。
”Konnichiwa” wa eigo de “Hello” desu.
“Konnichiwa” means “Hello” in English .
②To indicate the place where an action takes place.
N = place
e.g. がっこうで べんきょうします。
Gakkō de benkyō shimasu.
I study at school.
e.g. ながので スキーを します。
Nagano de sukī o shimasu.
I will ski in Nagano.
