This form represents that N2 is the most い/なA in the range N1.
N=Noun, いA=いadjective, なA=なadjective
e.g. 日本料理で すしが 一番 おいしいです。
にほんりょうりで すしが いちばん おいしいです。
Sushi is the most delicous in Japanese cuisine.
e.g. スポーツで サッカーが 一番 おもしろいです。
スポーツで サッカーが いちばん おもしろいです。
Soccer is the most interesting in sports.
e.g. 動物で ねこが 一番 好きです。
どうぶつで ねこが いちばん すきです。
I like cats the best of all animals.
e.g. このクラスで 山田さんが 一番 絵が上手です。
このクラスで やまださんが いちばん えが じょうずです。
Mr.Yamada is the best painter in this class.
(Yamada-san draws the best in this class.)
e.g. この3人で トムさんが 一番 背が高いです。
この3人で トムさんが いちばん せがたかいです。
Tom is the tallest of these three.
